Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) is a fuel produced by shredding and dehydrating Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), typically consisting of combustible components such as:
- Biodegradable waste: food and kitchen waste, green waste, paper.
- Recyclable material: paper, certain plastics, fabrics, clothes, etc.
- Composite wastes: waste clothing, Tetra-Packs, waste plastics such as toys, garden furniture etc.
The European manufacturers produces Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) strictly following the European Standard of CEN/343 ANAS as defined in the Directive 2008/98/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 November 2008 to ensure the zero damage to the environment and offering an astonishing amount of savings on the environment when compared with the same amount heat generated from coal.
The materials used to produce Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) passes through a series of shredders, screens, air classifiers/density separators and magnets. Inert materials, recyclable plastics and metals are extracted from the shredded material, leaving a mix of mainly non-recyclable paper, card, wood, textiles and plastic. The specialty of the SRF produced by our partnering manufacturers is a special bio-drying process which is a proprietary technology of our master principal London Investments Consultancy Limited (LIC) that reduces the moisture content of the bio-degradable components of the MSW in much more higher amount compared to sun drying, making our SRF guaranteed to provide the desired heat output.
The production of SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel) may involve some or all of the following steps:
- Preliminary liberation/sorting
- Course, pre-shredding
- Size screening
- Magnetic separation
- Refining separation
- Fine, secondary shredding
- Baling & wrapping
Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) is shredded to between zero and 30mm, and can be blended to meet the exact fuel specifications requested by customers. It can be delivered loose or baled-and-wrapped so it can be bulk-shipped or stored.

Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) offers almost 30% financial savings over coal for the same amount of heat value. Compared to the emission of coal, SRF emits 30% less Carbon, 85% less Nitrogen, 90% less Sulfur, 50% less Chlorine and 40% more Hydrogen. This makes a tremendous difference on environment of using SRF instead of coal. As detailed in our business plan, we are in the process of establishing our own SRF production facility while popularizing the usage of it among the present coal users by importing and selling it to them.

Other benefit of SRF over Coal:
Apart from the huge financial savings (almost 30%) for the same amount of heat generated by SRF over coal, a major advantage of SRF is that the Net Calorific Value (NCV) fully configurable within the range of 7 to 28 MJ/Kg, which gives the customer the complete flexibility to get the exact heat output required by their system.
